Registration SP-WCA - from An-2 to Airbus A321 via an Orlik

On the 11th July 2025 an Airbus A321F arrived at Shannon airport Ireland from the USA, registered as N995CM ( s/n 1619 ).  It was painted white with a maroon tail and had Warsaw Cargo titles ( a new freight airline ).

The nose wheel doors were marked "WCA" - it will shortly become SP-WCA(3). This will be the third use of this registration since 1945.

The original SP-WCA(1) was An-2 s/n 1G105-50, this was registered from August 1969 to May 1977 and was cancelled after an accident.

SP-WCA(2) was PZL 130T Turbo Orlik s/n 1900008 - this was previously SP-PCD.  WCA(2) was registered from October 1990 until December 1999 - after a period of storage at PZL Okecie this Orlik was sold to a private owner in the USA and became N450KM and later N552PZ - photo below shows SP-WCA(2) inside the flight test hangar at PZL Okecie.

Wodno Samolotem - Cessna 206 OH-STR becomes SP

February 2025 - Wodno Samolotem a Polish company has announced their accquisition of a Cessna 206H Stationair - the aircraft has been imported from Finland and was previously OH-STR s/n 20608086.

 


 

It will be registered in Poland ( SP-.... ) and then used to offer pleasure flights from the Baltic coastal resort of Mielno near Koszalin from summer 2025. 

UPDATE 4th March 2025 - Wodno Samolotem shared an image of this Cessna 206 now registered as SP-SEA - this will be SP-SEA(3).

New Pa-34 M350 - SP-WAC(4)

February 2025 - JB Aviation announced the recent delivery of a new build Piper Pa-46-350P M350. The M350 was delivered via Wroclaw ( from Prague ) on 28th Feb 2025 in a silver/blue colour scheme as SP-WAC(4) - s/n 4636856 ( ex N856SP )

 


This registration was previously been used as SP-WAC(1) Gawron 1967-1969, SP-WAC(2) Wilga 1983-1983 and SP-WAC(3) Turbo Kruk 1990-1995.

New aerobatic glider - I-45 Jay

February 2025 - The Instytut Lotnictwa ( IL ) has designed a new aerobatic glider called the I-45 Jay. The single seat mid wing glider had its first flight in early 2025 and is registered as SP-GUST. The Jay has been designed to bear loads of +10g / -8g. First flight took place in December 2024 at Czestochowa-Rudniki airfield.

 The IL will be looking to partner with a local manufacturer to produce this new aerobatic glider.
