Aero AT-6 - New design first flight

The Aero AT-6 made its first flight on 6th February 2026 at Mielec airport in Poland. The sleek twin engine aircraft features a forward nose wing so giving three aerodynamic surfaces ( TSA  three surface aircraft ). The AT-6 has the test ( proby ) registration SP-PTA.

This is the first twin engine design from AT and follows on from the successful single engine designs AT-3 and AT-4.

New aerobatic glider - I-45 Jay

February 2025 - The Instytut Lotnictwa ( IL ) has designed a new aerobatic glider called the I-45 Jay. The single seat mid wing glider had its first flight in early 2025 and is registered as SP-GUST. The Jay has been designed to bear loads of +10g / -8g. First flight took place in December 2024 at Czestochowa-Rudniki airfield.

 The IL will be looking to partner with a local manufacturer to produce this new aerobatic glider.

Virtus - Gyrocopter designed by Jan Romaniak

A new design from Poland is the Virtus gyrocopter designed and built by Jan Romaniak. The Virtus is an enclosed two seater gyro powered by a Honda CBR 1000 engine. This gyrocopter first flew in December 2009. The prototype Virtus is shown in the photo below





Mr Romaniak has previously built and flown two kit built gyrocopters in Poland  - his first gyro was an AX-02 Gepard which initially operated as F-WTYD before being re-registered as LA-0461.

In 2004 he built an Averso Aviation Delta gyrocopter which was initially registered as AP-MSWQ before being re-registered as SP-MSWO.
