The Politechnic Rzeszow has had a flight training school for the past 30 years known as OKL, and have operatied aircraft such as the PZL 104 Wilga, PZL 110 Koliber, PZL M-20 Mewa and the SOCATA TB-9 Tampico.
As part of its fleet renewal programme the OKL has recently taken delivery of 5 new build Liberty XL-2 single engine trainers. These aircraft were built in the USA and were delivered to Rzeszow in August and September 2010. The tender process included considering the Polish built Aero AT-3 but the XL-2 won in part due to the fact it is certified to fly in IFR conditions. These are the first Liberty aircraft to be registered in Poland.
